About Us
Greater Eaglebrick Fire District was loosely established in 1907 with a single horse drawn engine which was responsible for covering Eaglebrick State Park, and Eaglebrick Township. Today the department provides Fire, EMS and Rescue for 77,000 residents, 102 sq. mi., and runs about 3200 calls a year from two stations. The department currently operates 2 Engines, 2 Type III Wildland Engines, 1 Tanker, 1 Quint, 3 Ambulances, 1 Mini-Pumper, 3 Utility trucks, and 1 command vehicle.
Part of our response area contains large fields and brush so maintaining safety during fire season is a one of the main priorities of the department. Another priority is the safety of Eaglebrick State Park, Heartland Trauma Center, Eaglebrick General Hospital and Blackbrick University. All 34 firefighters are trained as paramedics, HAZ-MAT technicians, SCUBA divers and USAR technicians.
